The Manam Clinic provides professional psychotherapy services to men over the age of 18 years who were sexually abused in childhood. As adults, survivors of childhood sexual abuse are, generally, no longer at risk. However, even if the sexual abuse took place some years ago, the alleged perpetrator may still pose a risk to current children.

In following with national guidelines and the mandatory reporting protocol, it is the policy of The Manam Clinic that all child protection concerns received from clients are notified to Tusla child protection teams. As all my clients are adults, most of these allegations concern retrospective accounts of child sexual abuse.

Although this process may sound daunting and somewhat invasive, it puts the protection of children to the forefront. Upon meeting, I will explain what happens around mandatory reporting and ensure that you will feel, and will be, in control of the process.
